Q:
What is Oneighty?
A: Oneighty is the local church youth ministry of Omega Church. For
more info see the History of Oneighty.
Q:
What happens at Oneighty?
A: Designed to be a safe place for you to come and enjoy the very best
worship services and time to hang out with your friends - and meet
some new ones - Oneighty features tons of video games, billiards
tables, mp3listening stations, basketball court, internet viewing
stations and a full service cafe to satisfy your hunger.
Q:
What time does Oneighty start?
A: It all depends on how well you do in school. . .well, kind of.
Oneighty is broken down into two age groups; Grades 9-12 (Varsity) and
7-8 Grades (JV). Doors open at 6:30 and if you are in the JV group
your service time is 7:00 - 8:00 PM, and you have the gameroom all to
yourself afterwards, until 10 PM. If you are in Varsity, doors open at
7 PM and then you get to paint the place red until 8:15 ('painting the
building red' is figurative - no paint, please.) The Varsity service
runs from 8:15 - 9:15 PM, doors close 10PM.
Q:
Can I show up late or leave early?
A: If you want to come, we want you to be here. But, we have a few
guidelines that help us take good care of our large number of guests
each week. We ask that you show up before
8:00, if you don't, you'll miss too much. We also ask that you do not
leave until the service ends at 8:30.
Q: How old is "too old" and how
young is "too young?"
A: Oneighty is a place created specifically for teenagers, so you need
to be a teenager. If you are not yet 13, or in 6th grade, sorry you'll
have to wait. But don't worry; we're not going anywhere, and we are
only gonna get better. So relax, we will see you soon! If you're 19,
or out of High School, the time has come for us to part ways. Unless,
of course, you are a member of Omega Church and you want to help us
serve teenagers each week? If that's the case stop by our offices or
Information desk and we'll point you in the right direction.
Q: Can parents come?
A: We have designed Oneighty to be a place specifically for teenagers,
but we want parents to feel welcome to see what their kids are
enjoying. We have created an open door policy for parents and you may
see some of them wandering around from time to time. So, you had
better be on your best behavior just in case the next ones you see are
yours!
Q:
Do I need to bring money?
A: The only thing that costs money at Oneighty is the food. All of the
video games, billiards tables and everything else is free. So if your
stomach talking to you, bring a little bit of money so you can talk
back. Otherwise, relax it's on the house.
Q:
How do I get to Oneighty?
A: We are located at 3737 Roosevelt San Antonio, TX, 2 blocks south of
SE Military Dr. |
